WORKSHOPS
I would like to invite you and your friends to the next ' Singing Workshop' to meet other like minded people, of mixed ages and abilities, who share in the common enjoyment of singing!
Please Email me your name and contact details so I can add you to the mailing list of forthcoming workshop dates. Otherwise, watch this space for workshops dates under the NEWS section.
Children and adults of any ability, are welcome to come along together and learn some valuable vocal techniques and enjoy group singing. (minimum age for Children is 10 years).
We'll explore different genres of music from pop to world music (unless specific tailored workshop is requested i.e for specific show)!
You don’t have to have a brilliant voice to enjoy singing. My techniques and exercises will enhance your voice to it’s maximum potential.
I will teach you how to use your body to enhance your voice, vocal projection, performing a song with meaning, how to use your diaphragm to sing longer phrases and reach higher notes with ease. We’ll sing group songs and harmonies & explore other fun vocal exercises during the two hour workshop.
Why not ask your friends, family, neighbours and associates to come along?
Spread the word...Keep Music alive.
TESTIMONIALS-
*Chesham Musical Theatre Company:
Maria provided us with great 'group vocal tuition', as part of a wider theatre company workshop, ahead of our 2008 show, 'Magical Musical Movies'. Our company members had fun going through her various vocal techniques and broke down the component parts of “Tonight” from “West Side Story”. The end of the workshop resulted in a sing-through by all of company members, who by then, all had confidence to sing in front of each other! As a result of the singing workshop, we discovered some new talent and some of our chorus members took their very first solo parts in this show, then moved on to lead roles in shows such as “Guys and Dolls” and “Sweet Charity”. Maria’s positive, vibrant, inclusive attitude made our workshop fun, fulfilling and gave us all a real confidence boost, thank you! (Director Liz Glover)

"Hi Maria, I would just like to say a big thank you for the workshop you put on
for us at 'Lets Play Together Playscheme' during the summer.
The activities you organised complimented our sea side theme really well, making the childrens experience much more fulfilling.
Having to entertain such a range of ages (5 - 12 years) and such a mixed ability of children (children who require 1 to 1 supervision,
children with SEN, and children from mainstream schools) is not easy
and you were able to do this in such a professional approach ensuring
all present were involved.
Thank you for all your help and we look forward to using your services again in the near future.
Kind regards
Alan Dunham

We were looking to provide some singing and musical sessions for our children and were recommended to use Maria from A Big Voice.
From our initial phone call and ongoing contact Maria was very approachable and professional and more than happy to tailor a sessions to meet our needs. Our children are very excited and inquisitive to see Maria and her plentiful props, so needed no encouragement to go and join her.
After an energetic warm up the children sang songs about one of our topics and also use instruments. Throughout the session Maria provides plenty of opportunities for the children to interact and join in. The session's end with some musical game, which the children enjoy followed by some calming down time.
We feel that Maria has an excellent rapport with children, ensuring our more reluctant performers join in the sessions whilst calming down some of our more excitable children!
The children were disappointed after Maria's first session at our preschool, when they found out that the ‘Singing Lady’ would not be back the following day. We did, however, quickly book Maria for regular return visits.

Jane McCarthy & daughter Suzie McCarthy:
"Maria has a fresh, professional, and enthusiastic approach to singing. We’ve had experience of both her group singing, and individual lessons. We enjoyed the group singing very much, and she has made a real difference to my daughter’s individual experience of singing through her private lessons. Having been taught singing through tuition at school for many years, my daughter had grown really disheartened and lost all confidence in her once happy experience of singing. After a few lessons with Maria, her enthusiasm and confidence have come on by leaps and bounds – a wonderful gift of finding her voice again"!
